I have been making good progress. Walked 134 feet in six minutes with rollator and no assistance. Lots of standing (8, 18 and 8 seconds with only my legs holding me up as balancing; 3 seconds with my eyes closed; aiming for 30 seconds). Arm, shoulder, elbow, wrist and finger mobility all improved. We had a loaner tool for arm exercises that I love and hope they buy. Cranking up resistance on EMST exhalation trainer. Had two good pool sessions with Sam. Bern going out a lot. Dinners (finally got to Barley Swine for the first time in three years. Austin FC matches; we clinched a playoff spot. Might have some matches at home. Wet to an RV show which did not have any accessible vehicles, but we got some leads. Saw Kimberly, Akimbo Broadway in Austin show. My new iPhone 17 Pro Max is coming soon.
This ast weekend was vaccination updates and Austin FC match. We won, but I Amit sure we deserved it. Vaccinations were for COVID, Flu, and second Shingrex. They say second is worse. I agree. Two and a half days later I am still a wreck and my arm is super sore where I got the shot.
Life is feeling very normal. Need to have conversation with LTD folks about plan for going back to work. That will reduce my rehab time so we need to manage PT and OT. Probably do more with Sam, my caregiver and maybe another person we are talking with. We had a neighbor over to discuss options.
It is starting to feel like I am turning the corner to a new normal life after two years of disruption.
I continue to be impressed to the point of awe with your strength, determination, and simple honesty about all of this. It is inspirational, and I am humbled. Thank you for sharing your journey.
